Appreciating the Beach

Since our trip to Puerto Rico is coming up fast, I’ve been nonstop thinking about the beach. What to wear, what to do, what to read, what to drink. All important questions. I’ve also been thinking nonstop about my most favorite beaches of those I’ve visited in the world. I still think I am more of a mountain person than a beach person in general, (more on this another time) but I still am always excited and giddy to head to shore and on the water.

The awesome part about the beach, as a category of geography, is the wide range of environments the word beach covers. Sandy beaches, pebbly beaches, cliff-y beaches, black beaches, etc. Let’s see what I’m talking about:
