Nepal was one of the most challenging yet amazing countries I’ve ever visited. It taught me a lot of hard lessons about travel, about poverty, and about my own situation in life.
It also was one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever seen. From the stunning peaks of Everest and the Himalayas, to the serenity of Phewa Lake and Pokhara, there was something about Nepal that changed me. Though I am sure I may never get the chance to return, I think more and more about how wonderful it would be travel back to see more of this country that really helped me cut my travel teeth.
This scene, from Bhaktapur (an ancient Newari city of temples and shrines), is an example of the beauty I found in everyday life here. Somehow the colors of this old and alarmingly brittle city, are as bright as ever.
