The Yogyakarta train station on the island of Java isn’t very big, but with so much movement and chaos, it feels like every single person who lives on the island passes through. The trains have various levels of luxury and depending on how far you are going or how adventurous you are feeling, the train can be an interesting travel experience
We took the fancy car from Yogayakarta to Jakarta, passing through miles and miles of mountains, rice fields, and villages. It really was one of the most beautiful and fascinating overland trips I’ve ever taken. All eight hours of it.
