Photo Inspiration: Elbow Beach, Bermuda

It’s been a while since I’ve been able to get on a plane, being that there’s a new human on the TravelShus team. That all changed this weekend though, as three out of the four of us (Cambodia has to stay home sadly) boarded a plane and headed off into the Atlantic Ocean to the stunning island of Bermuda.

When I stay stunning, I really mean stunning. Everything on the island is meticulously manicured and designed to look effortlessly perfect. The pastel and bright colors of each building are painted with perfect and well maintained detail and sparkle against bright white trim. I did not see a stray piece of garbage anywhere – even in the city of Hamilton. And mother nature brought on the beauty too. Green – everywhere. Jagged rocky cliffs and caves with green vines and tropical plants draped along the top like icing. Perfectly pink sand and neon turquoise water. It sort of blew me away how beautiful it is there.

It is, however, a very high end destination without much for a budget traveler to rely on in terms of beach lodging and food. But for a splurge trip – or first trip for a 3-month old baby that really truly needs to be an easy getaway – it’s a perfect place to go.

This photo is of the beach at our Elbow Beach hotel, the Coco Reef Resort. We wanted an easy, relaxing, beachfront resort that we could enjoy with our baby – who needs lots of naps, lots of diapers changes, and lots of  STUFF.

I visited Bermuda a few months back, and I have to say that it is one of my fave places in the world – I cannot wait to get back!

    Hi ?
Lovely photos. I was wondering what month you were there? My husband and I are looking for a good first trip with our baby who will be 4 months in November. Is Bermuda a good choice in the winter?

      Hi Sofia.

Bermuda is pretty all times of the year, but it does get colder in the winter time as it’s so far north for a tropical island. I think in Novemeber it would be about 70 on average. So it’s still nice, but not warm enough for a tropical beach vacation. But it is so beautiful that it would still be nice to visit! But not for hot sunny beaching….
